| Nisga'a woman
were skilled weavers. They wove baskets, mats, hats,
capes and dance regalia. They wove with spruce roots, cattail stems, tule stems, mountain goat wool, the inner bark of red cedar, the inner bark of yellow cedar, and the inner bark of the cherry tree. Weavers often decorated their work by weaving in grasses and fern stems. They also wove in down from ducks and other birds.
