Acknowledgements

The Nisga'a Language and Culture Program (NLCP) wishes to thank School District No. 92 (Nisga'a) and the Board of Trustees for the support it has recieved during the preparation of the book titled "From Time Before Memory", "The People of K'amligihahlhaahl". We also wish to thank the Aboriginal Education Branch of British Columbia Ministry of Education for the seed money needed to begin this project. Nisga'a Economic Enterprises has also made a significant economic contribution toward the completion of this project. Without their contribution the aesthetic appeal of this book would have been much less and we are grateful for their generous support.

The Nisga'a Tribal Council, not least by providing us with access to their files, has also been very helpful with the production of this book. In particular we would like to thank Nita Morven, head researcher with the Ayuukhl Nisga'a Department of the NTC who has very often taken time from her busy schedule to provide immediate answers to the many questions we have sent her way.

The Nisga'a Language and Culture Department also wishes to acknowledge and thank those elders, teachers and members of the local communities who contributed directly to the preparation of this book, including those who responded to our valley-wide request for photographs. We than Myrle Grandison, our secretary, who through her unfailing competence, her unflagging support and her uncanny ability to find typos is a continuing source of amazement to all of us privilaged to work with her.

We would also like to personally thank each of the following people for their particular assistance:
