One of the survivors. It's nice to see them get so feisty when they feel better
This little swan was brought to the shelter in a very weak condition. It did
not improve with the best care possible and when weighed it was found to have
starved well beyond the critical mass for survival. Below this weight the bird
starts to digest it's own organs for energy and the result is a bird that
cannot be saved. It was euthanized by the veterinarian to take it's pain away.
