Newsletter #15   Here Comes the Sun…..

And it's about time?  How long will it last??  Who knows, so get out there and enjoy it while you can!  A tad chilly, but beautiful nonetheless.  I don't know about you, but I am so much more motivated to get out there and get running when the weather is like this.  Hope to see you at the track tonight for a little speed training!

With the race season upon us, who couldn't use a few pointers to help us perform our best on race day??  Here is part one of race day tips from the Running Room.  I had a very difficult time getting this email to insert into the newsletter; had to insert it in pieces so it doesn't look very pretty and I lost some of the pictures.  But the text is there and that's what's important!  Enjoy!

SKEENA RIVER RELAY UPDATE

The last deadline for team entries is May 1!  Get your team registration in now!

18 teams entered, it's looking to be a great event!  So what are you waiting for?  Round up 9 of your closest friends and get a team entered!  Not on a team, but would like to run?  No fear, there is almost always a team in need of another runner.....contact the race coordinator Leanne Enns for more info (email below).

For all the race info, please see the SRR website at:  www.citytel.net/skeenariverrelay

The organizing committee is still looking for volunteers and new committee members.  An event of this size requires a lot of preparation and dedication by runners just like you.  But it is a lot of fun and the end result is always great.  If you are interested in joining the organization committee, or would like to volunteer on race day, please contact race coordinator Leanne Enns at lenns@uniserve.com.  The next committee meeting is this Sunday April 27 at 1pm at the Leonard's, 2150 Graham Avenue.  Hope to see you there!

TRAINING

Come on out for a little  speed training.  With the race season underway, this is just what you need to help shave those last couple of minutes off of your race time!  Please note the time changeCharles Hays track, Wednesdays at 5:30 pm.  Workouts will be short and intense, and worth the effort.  You'll be glad you went!  See ya there!

Anyone have anything else to add here?  Anyone doing a Sunday morning run?  What about the Learn to Run clinic?  Any updates or information would be greatly appreciated!  Or, if you'd like to start a training session of your own, let me know and we'll get things started right here!
