Explaining No Limits Long Distance

Prince Rupert - October 9, 1998 -

No Limits plan means unlimited evening and weekend calls made direct from your phone.

Prince Rupert - The phone bills are out and people are alarmed to see that their bill isn't $20. CityTel wants to clarify with people again the details of the BC Tel No Limits long distance plan.

"People are confused when their bill comes in," said Dawn Dalley, Marketing Manager, CityTel. "We tried to explain it to every customer clearly but there is still some confusion and we want people to understand why their bill may not be what they expected."

With the No Limits long distance plan you can talk as long as you want, as often as you want on evenings and weekends within Canada. Evening and weekend rates are 10¢ per minute within Canada, to a maximum of $20. This means that if you use less than 200 minutes of long distance in a month, you'll pay less. The calls have to be direct from your phone (collect, third party calls and directory assistance do not apply) to anywhere in Canada during weekends from 6pm Friday to 8am Monday and weeknights from 6pm to 8am.

Other rates with the No Limits plan are:

  • 22¢ per minute, daytime within Canada
  • 22¢ per minute, 24 hours a day, to the U.S.
  • 27¢ per minute, for automated Calling Card calls within Canada and between the U.S. and Canada

If people need clarification on reading their bills with their new long distance plan they can call
    CityTel at 624-2111.
